Frequently asked questions
What is Computer Science?+
Computer Science is a specialty about how digital systems, programs, data, algorithms, web services, artificial intelligence, and information technologies work. It is not a single narrow profession, and it's not just about "learning to write code." During their studies, students gradually learn how to define a problem, build a solution's logic, work with data, create software products, verify results, and apply digital technologies to real needs in business, transport, logistics, education, management, and everyday life.
Do I need to know how to program before enrolling?+
No, you don't need to arrive at Computer Science already a ready-made programmer. What matters more at the start is an interest in technology, logic, digital services, data, AI, or programming. University study exists to gradually build that foundation — from simple concepts to more complex problems. If an applicant hasn't written code yet but wants to understand how websites, apps, chatbots, artificial intelligence, and digital products work, the F3 "Computer Science" specialty can be the right start.
If ChatGPT exists, why study Computer Science?+
Artificial intelligence already helps write code, find bugs, explain complex things, and speed up work. But AI doesn't remove the need for specialists who know how to properly define a problem, verify a result, understand the logic of a solution, assess risks, and assemble the individual parts into a working digital product. A modern IT specialist isn't just someone who writes code. It's someone who understands the problem, sees the logic of the solution, and can work with data, web services, databases, AI tools, and digital products. That's why Computer Science remains relevant. AI is a powerful tool, but you need to know how to wield it.
